How we serve your clientele

Welcome to Others Who Serve Special Needs!

Please note that you, as professionals and agency representatives, are at the top of this successful cycle as you refer families that may have respite and childcare needs!

One of TLCs greatest undertakings is that of finding and/or recruiting care providers who are comfortable working with disabilities. Care providers that we've recruited will register with care.com com which provides further screening and official background checks. Care.com is a domestic employee seeking website who collaborated with TLC to create their "Special Needs Vertical" of services.

TLC hosts a family event the last Sunday of every month. This "mixer" is one way that families can 'connect' with eligible care providers. "Meet the Parents" is also a place for families to enjoy a fun outing where their entire family is welcomed. As parents observe interactions, they are encouraged to relax and visit with one another while children are entertained! Please refer families to this gathering and know you are welcome to 'pop in' as well!

As our diagram above shows, families are encouraged to join care.com, with financial assistance of TLC if needed, which allows them to search for additional respite providers who are comfortable with special needs. Either way, TLC will continue to come along side families to help with their respite needs.

TLC offers orientation classes so that care providers will be more prepared socially, emotionally and practically to work with children and their families who are touched by disabilities. Soon our programs will include branches of training that will address specific diagnoses, conditions and medical needs.
